December

Tis the season! We are welcoming the jolly, cozy times with some workshops and holiday offerings. Read more to find out what we have in store for you!

December is a time of increasing rest and reflection for most farmers in this area. But, it can be a hard push to get everything finished outside that needs to be done before it is too late and the cold comes in and makes it difficult to wrap up those last few tasks that got delayed to the last minute For example, this week we are going to see how difficult it will be to put an end wall on one of the tunnels considering how cold the mornings have been. It has to be done in the morning since the wind comes in the afternoon. We'll come together and get it done, as well as the few remaining odds and ends we have left, and then the cold and dark will force us inside and we'll all break for a long few weeks before starting up again in late January.

As I wrap up the year, reviewing records and logs, and begin planning for next year, I feel like it's been a good year for the farm and for me as well. There is a lot to be thankful for this year: our incredible seasonal help who came with strong backs and lots of patience to plant, weed and harvest during the production season; our wonderful volunteers; the vast array of  vendors and service providers who help maintain the grounds and buildings; supporters of our weekly Farm Stand and Members of our Flower and Veggie CSAs who took the time to share their stories and learn about ours; all of our incredibly supportive partners in the community who support our wholesale ventures; my wonderful team and cofarmer who help me keep up with all the details involved in running the farm and taking care of this whole property. I'm fortunate to be able to share the farm with great people, my husband and my dog, Sage and I am delighted to continue to have the opportunity to enjoy it with all of you and many more in the upcoming year. Cheers, everybody! Here's to seeing again in the New Year.
