FAQs

When & Where can I pick up my subscription?

- When: You will be notified 1-2 weeks prior to your CSA starting*

Where: 143 Amenia Union Road, Maitri Farm

Can I pick up my flower share Tuesday this week & Friday the next.

- No, once you have chosen a preferred pick up day, that will be your day for the entire CSA. This helps us spread the workload out.

What if I can't pick up my flowers on my designated date?

- Because of limited staff, accommodation changes to csa pick can not be guaranteed. If you can't pick up your share that week we encourage you to have a friend or neighbor pick it up instead. Unclaimed flower/veg shares will be donated to local community organizations otherwise

+  We are unable to hold bouquets past the designated pick-up date/time.  Additionally, we cannot extend additional bouquets to accommodate missed pick-ups since our seeding and planting schedules are finalized months in advance in order to plan our subscriptions accordingly.

What is the risk involved in being a CSA member?

As a member, you share in the abundance of our harvest and the risks that come with farming.
Mother Nature, our farming partner, certainly keeps us on our toes, and although we like to think we do a pretty good job avoiding most of her curveballs, we still may lose a crop to drought, disease, insects, hail, or crazy June winds. If one of those fastballs hits us, it means you will not receive that particular crop for that season. If this occurs, we will do our best to make up for the value of the share by substituting something else in its place.
We will do our best to communicate and keep you informed of our plan if such a thing happens.

What are Maitri Farm’s Certifications?

Maitri Farm is NOFA-NY Certified Organic and recognized by the Real Organic Project. Organic standards address such factors as soil quality, pest and weed control, use of input materials, and humane treatment of livestock. Additionally, the flowers are New York State Grown and Certified. To learn more, go to

Do you offer delivery?

At this time we are not able to offer delivery for flower subscriptions.

Can I order extra flowers to pick up with my share?

Absolutely!  If you would like additional flowers for a party or to give as a gift, just send us an email and we’d be happy to add an additional bouquet to your share. And take a look at our DIY Buckets if you need even more flowers.

How will I be alerted to any changes or updates relating to my share?

We communicate with members via email. It is the responsibility of the members to read emails in a timely fashion as they pertain to the subscription.  We also have a Facebook page and an Instagram account, where we post photos and share happenings from the farm.

What are my responsibilities as a Bouquet Subscription member?

As a Bouquet Subscription member, you are responsible for:
Picking up your flowers at the designated time and place or designating someone else to pick it up on your behalf
Notifying us of any problems with your share within 24 hours of pickup

-Additionally, our responsibilities are:

Provide members with fresh, quality cut flowers
Have the bouquets ready at the designated time and location
Deal with any issues or concerns in a timely manner

How are the bouquets packaged?

-Bouquets come artfully wrapped in our signature hand-stamped brown craft paper sleeve.

How do I make my bouquet last longer?
- When you get your flowers home, snip the ends of the stems with sharp scissors or pruners and then place them in a clean vase with fresh water.

The more you change the water the longer your flowers will last. Keep away from direct sunlight

Please note, not all flowers have the same vase life. Some simply just have a shorter life once cut

How long do the flowers typically last?

We have found that our bouquets last upwards to a week. Some flowers are longer lasting than others and we encourage our members to pull those blooms out of the bouquet once they fade but to continue to enjoy the other blooms and foliage that last longer.

Can I cancel my subscription?
- We do not accept cancellations but do allow you to transfer ownership of the share to another person. We understand life happens, if something comes up please contact us and we will help as best we can. info@maitriny.com

Is my dog welcome at your farm?

While we know that your four legged friends are important and part of your family, because of Food Safety and Liability issues, no pets are allowed in the fields or outside of the designated parking areas on the farm. Service animals are always welcome.
